It’s Time to Review Your 2027 Medicare Coverage
Hello! October is here, which means it is time to start preparing for the 2027 Medicare plan year.
October 1–14: Review and prepare
From October 1 through October 14, I can review and discuss available 2027 plan information with you. Applications for changes through Medicare’s annual Open Enrollment period can be submitted beginning October 15. Other enrollment periods may apply to your situation.
Your Annual Notice of Change
Your current Medicare Advantage or prescription drug plan should have sent you an Annual Notice of Change, also called an ANOC.
Please do not throw this document away. It explains changes that may affect you in 2027, including:
- Premiums, deductibles and copays
- Prescription drug coverage and drug tiers
- Provider and pharmacy networks
- Maximum out-of-pocket costs
- Dental, vision, hearing and other extra benefits
If you have not received your ANOC, contact your current plan and request a copy.
Get ready for your review
Before we speak, please gather:
- Your ANOC and current plan card
- A complete medication list with dosages
- Your preferred doctors, specialists and hospitals
- Your preferred pharmacy
- Any upcoming procedures, treatments or healthcare needs
- Questions about benefits or costs
Remember, you do not automatically need to change plans every year. The goal is to make sure your current coverage still fits your healthcare needs and budget for 2027.
Please be careful with calls and TV advertisements
This time of year, you may receive many calls, mailers and see TV advertisements promising money, free benefits or a “better” Medicare plan.
Please be cautious before providing personal information or agreeing to any coverage change. A television advertisement may describe benefits that are not available in every area or under every plan.
If the call is not coming from my number, 816-695-8248, it is not me. Caller ID can be spoofed, so if anything seems unusual, hang up and call me directly at that number.
Never give your Medicare number, Social Security number or banking information to an unexpected caller. If you are unsure about something you received or saw advertised, contact me before making a change.
