Meet Amber

For me, insurance has always been personal.

I’m Amber Rodriguez, owner of Insurance Benefits Advisors and a licensed Health and Life Insurance Agent. I have more than 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, and in 2016 I began building my own business as Insurance by Amber.

I was born and raised in Cass County, Missouri, and I still call it home today. Those local roots are a big part of why serving families throughout Cass County, the Kansas City area and beyond means so much to me.

At the time, I was a single mom raising two boys, including a child with epilepsy. I needed a career that gave me the flexibility to be there for my children because some days were simply unpredictable. Insurance gave me that opportunity while also allowing me to build something meaningful for our future.

My boys have come with me to appointments, watched me work and grown alongside this business. Many of the people I first met as clients have become like family. I get to know the person behind the policy—their health, their family, their worries and what matters most to them—and that personal connection is still what I love most about this career.

Where the heart of IBA began

I started primarily helping lower-income and disabled clients—people who are too often overlooked or left feeling confused by the healthcare system. That work remains the heart of my business today.

Over the years, I have expanded my experience to help seniors, individuals, families and businesses with Medicare, Medicaid resources, ACA Marketplace coverage, health insurance, life insurance and supplemental protection.

As Insurance by Amber grew into Insurance Benefits Advisors, the name changed but the purpose did not: make insurance easier to understand, offer honest guidance without pressure and remain a trusted resource long after enrollment.

Community is part of the mission

IBA partners with Kansas City-area libraries, local organizations and resource groups to bring free, approachable education into the community.

These programs help people learn about Medicare, Medicaid and ACA Marketplace coverage in a welcoming environment—without pressure, obligation or confusing insurance language.

Whether I am sitting across from one client or speaking to a room full of people, my goal is the same: listen first, explain things clearly and help people feel confident about their next step.
