Welcome to the first IBA newsletter
A quick update about our new name and email, plus a few things to know as Medicare Open Enrollment gets closer.
Insurance by Amber is now Insurance Benefits Advisors
You may notice a new name on my website, emails and materials. Insurance by Amber has become Insurance Benefits Advisors—IBA for short. The name has changed, but the person helping you has not. I’m still Amber, and I’m still here to provide the same personal, local guidance my clients know and trust.
Watch for an email—or a text when you’ve opted in
As important dates approach, I may contact you with reminders or information that could help you prepare. Please check your inbox and spam or junk folder for messages from amber@ibakc.com. If you have given permission to receive text messages, you may also hear from me by text.
I will never ask you to send sensitive personal or health information by an unexpected email or text. If a message does not look right, call me before responding.
Medicare Open Enrollment is October 15–December 7
Medicare Open Enrollment is the annual period when people with Medicare can review and, if appropriate, make changes to their Medicare Advantage or prescription drug coverage for the following year.
Before it begins, keep your current plan information handy and make a list of your prescriptions, preferred pharmacies, doctors and questions. Plan details can change from year to year, so reviewing your Annual Notice of Change is an important first step.
- Open and keep mail from your current plan.
- Review your Annual Notice of Change.
- Write down changes to prescriptions, providers or pharmacies.
- Contact Amber if you want personal help reviewing your options.
Community education is growing
IBA is partnering with Kansas City-area libraries and community organizations to make Medicare, Medicaid and ACA Marketplace information easier to understand. These group events are educational only—no plan-specific discussions, applications or enrollments take place during the class. Private appointments are available separately for personalized help.
Thank you for trusting me to help you and your family.
